About Me

I am Songchai Saensuma from Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Currently I am studying Industrial design engineering and Mechanical Engineering at the Fontys university for applied science in Venlo.

gI am an optimistic person who thinks in possibilities and likes to see ideas developing into tangible products. Developing innovative ideas and optimising products or processes are things I like to do. Furthermore, I have a wide interest in materials.

During my gap years I have travelled the world which has really formed me into the person who I am today. Along my journey I have met various people from all around the world and I got in touch with different cultures and customs. This experience has enriched me to become a constructive and a more optimistic person. This journey helped me to determine my direction in life and the study I wanted to do.

I like many fields of study programs but the studies Industrial Product Design and Mechanical Engineering are the perfect match for me. The Majors combine applied sciences and loads of creativity. As a child I have always wondered how mechanisms work, like the movement of an excavator arm and why in a laminar running water stream a little obstacle could cause a huge change in the flow of the water. Besides my great interest in science, I spend a lot of time in creative activities, like drawing and painting pictures in the style of the great masters, like Gauguin.

Furthermore, I am eager to learn and I follow several additional courses alongside to my two majors. I express my creative ability by sketching my ideas on paper and modelling them in a CAD-program. In this process I like to think outside of the box by being open-minded and exploring all options. In a team I work in a transparent way and take the time to get to know and understand my teammates. I like to socialise and help others.

As a future engineer I would like to make the world ‘greener’ by focusing on sustainable products, materials and production methods. I believe as an engineer you are responsible for considering the materials, production methods and energy needed to realise your products in order to make the most sustainable products. Therefore, I would like to commit myself to create a more sustainable and durable future.

I would like to support a team working in research, healthcare, innovation or sustainability. As a person I am social, analytic and cooperative. I believe that my drive and ambition match well with an open-minded and progressive team in which I can develop myself as a person and as an engineer. To the prospect of working in a multidisciplinary team attracts me the most. In such an environment I would be able to learn the most. I am native speaker in Dutch and I have an upper-intermediate level of proficiency in English. In addition, I have elementary level communication skills in Thai.

In conclusion, I am a driven and creative person who likes to think outside of the box and I am always looking for opportunities to make the world more sustainable and to help others. I am eager to support you team and to contribute to good corporative teamwork.
